Here's Saturday's Line up!

~~~"WE'LL DO IT LIVE!!!" ~ ~ ~
Howdy out there Radio People.
Thanks for checking out the KXCJ-LP blog. Hope you and yours are having a fine time sneezin' -or- smellin' all the beautiful, little flowers here in the valley.
So much is happenin' here in our little town, I can barely keep up with the nice-weather events on the docket. If you're hosting a (donation-based) event in the I.V, you should submit a PSA for air time. Ideally, PSA's go on air 2 weeks out from the event. Go check out the PSA guidelines to get your announcement on the air!
Be sure to check out the schedule! We've switched some syndicated shows around to favor music over talkies. We also have a few new LIVE DJ shows - including "The W33d Show" at 10pm on Saturday nights, with your hosts Herb and Bud! (loosely cannabis-themed music and giggles) as well as a Monday night place-holder, "Low Power Fluff" with DJ-LP.
If you have suggestions or comments about programming, please don't hesitate to leave us a message at 541-592-4112.
AND if you'd like to HOST YOUR OWN SHOW...you can fill out a Program Proposal!
More importantly, be sure to mark your calendars for...
We need...
1. Acts! (Musicians, magicians, singers, dancers, bands, mimes, clowns, puppeteers, impersonators, comedians, thespians, poets, fashion designers, speech-givers, mic-droppers and whomever else wants to be booked to perform LIVE ON STAGE! Think Carnival meets Talent Show!)
2. Volunteers!
3. Outdoor Games!
4. Vendors!
If you're interested in any of the above, please email me at phillip.kxcj@gmail.com
More info is on the way!
tune in!
Spring Time in Cave Junction!
Howdy Radio People!
Wow, what a time to be alive and sensitive to spring-time allergies!
I've been away from blog for a month or two, plotting and scheming for this year's KXCJ-LP projects!
Be sure to always check the KXCJ.ORG/SCHEDULE page for updated programming. The next few months may involve major changes, but your favorite shows will likely still be on the schedule, so be sure to keep up!
We recently aired a special interview with Jo-el Palacios of The Sasquatch Woods People. Check it out!
KXCJ-LP is happy to have a few new radio faces and we await the eventual return of some local legends that have stepped down for the time being.
Be sure to check out our newest local show - CREATURE FROM THE DEEP with your host, DJ Desert Tentacles! Saturday nights 7-10pm! (Starting in April)
Some of you may be missing Melting Space Dreams with DJ Cepheid, or DJ Squirrel's Late Night Album Show. We wish them well during their hiatus from the radio world and hope they gravitate back to the booth at their own pace. Being a KXCJ-LP weekly DJ is a huge commitment and many of our talented volunteers need breaks here and there.
That being said, if you are interested in hosting your own show, please propose a program!
Finally, KXCJ-LP is currently booking for...
KXCJ-LP's Carnival/Talent-Show Fundraiser Extravaganza!
Live @ Jubilee Park! Saturday, May 14th 2pm - 10pm!
We need...
1. Acts! (Musicians, magicians, singers, dancers, bands, mimes, clowns, puppeteers, impersonators, comedians, thespians, poets, fashion designers, speech-givers, mic-droppers and whomever else wants to be booked to perform LIVE ON STAGE! Think Carnival meets Talent Show!)
2. Volunteers!
3. Outdoor Games!
Happy 2022, IV!
Greetings Radio People! And Happy New Year from KXCJ-LP!
Well, we had some fidelity issues and a handful of local cancellations due to the snow storm, but we've recovered. We've been shifting the schedule around to include some really fun new, local DJ's.
Check out "UNDERGROUND GROOVE COALITION" on Tuesdays from 8pm - 11pm. DJ Marshall really knows how to mix the electronic dance music!
Also, "CREATURE FROM THE DEEP" with DJ's Captain Sea-foam and Admiral Desert Tentacles. This new "Surf Rock" show goes way beyond Dick Dale! Saturday 8pm-10pm.
As we update the schedule, please feel free to call the station (541) 592 4112 or email us at info@kxcj.org with suggestions or complaints. Sometimes it's hard to tell what shows are really loved by listeners and which ones should probably be replaced with up-to-date content.
If you enjoy our local news show - Valley News and Views (Tuesdays at 6pm) and you have suggestions for guests to interview, please contact news@kxcj.org.
If you are a KXCJ-LP appreciator, give us a call! Tell us what you like about the content. Consider visiting the DONATE page!
Also, if you are interested in getting involved, we're looking for more volunteers to get into some content creation. Podcast style shows, interviews, etc. If you know some youths that are audio/media inclined who would like to learn the ways of Radio, tell them to send us an email!
Thanks everyone for listening!
It's the most wonderful time...
Greetings and seasonal felicitations radio people!!
What a bright time, it's the right time...to rock the night away.
The streets are getting slushy out there. Someone called the station earlier to say they were virtually snowed in about 10 miles up Cave's Highway. Stuck, but thankful to have their local, community radio station keepin' him company.
We have some special holiday content comin' your way during the Christmas week. Starting on the Solstice -Tuesday, December 21st - one of our new favorite DJ's - Squirrel, will be hosting a "Special Christmas Album Show". On Christmas Eve, we'll be broadcasting our very own "Low Power X-mis Special" 2pm-5pm and again from 9pm - midnight. Catch my favorite holiday tunes, as well as an original skit, a poem and more!
On Saturday the 25th, Squirrel will be back with another holiday themed album show from 8:30pm - midnight!
We've added some fun, new programming in the past year, including our latest addition to the roster - "Underground Groove Coalition" on Tuesdays 8pm - 11pm. I'm also excited about yet another brand new, local DJ joining the gang in January to bring you Surf Rock on Saturdays! Stay tuned and watch out for "Creature from the Deep"! Saturday's 8pm - 10pm starting next month!
Thanks again to everyone who participated in the Telethon FUNdraiser event last month. We were able to raise around $4,000 with the help of our awesome community and supporters beyond the valley. Special thanks to Conner Flowe, The Caveman, Mij Note, and all of our awesome DJ's and performers who donated their time to help raise money. What a crazy day of non-stop, live programming, PHEW!
Stay /cozy/ and be easy, I.V.
Much love,
<3phillip
